Projectile tracking technology is a Meggitt speciality. We produce small, lightweight radar systems that are installed on drone aircraft to track incoming missiles or bullets, giving aircrew and missile manufacturers reassurance that their weapons are working as advertised.
The VSS is a non-cooperative missile-scoring radar that is optimized for use with the QF-16 full scale aerial targets.
It provides full, three-dimensional trajectory tracking of approaching missiles, before transmitting that information by telemetry link to a ground station for analysis.
The VSS target set, along with a compatible ground station, provides a complete vector score with missile attitude for all missile types, and includes a reconstruction of the missile trajectory throughout the entire scoring volume.
Field tested since 1998, the SVDOPS is a non-cooperative missile-scoring radar that is optimised for use with sub-scale aerial targets.
Integration of the radar unit with any target vehicle is made via a customised installation kit that contains the required installation hardware. The SVDOPS target set, along with a compatible ground station, provides a complete vector score with associated attitude for all missile types, and includes a reconstruction of the missile trajectory throughout the entire scoring volume.
The AWSS is an air-to-ground scoring system which was initially designed for U.S. Army attack helicopter crew qualification training.
It provides objective scoring results of live-fire exercises conducted from attack helicopters firing Caliber .50, 7.62-, 20-, and 40- millimeter (mm) projectiles and 2.75 inch training practice rockets and submunitions.
The AWSS also has the capability to objectively score simulated Hellfire missile engagements for helicopters equipped with the Hellfire Training Missile and Laser Designator.
ProTrak provides a cost effective solution for projectile tracking and scoring requirements.
It is a highly flexible projectile tracking system that can be configured via the use of modular hardware and embedded software for a wide variety of air-to-air, surface-to-air and air-to-surface projectile tracking applications.
It can be used for applications such as bullet counting, scalar miss distance indication (MDI), sector scoring or vector scoring. The radar scorer can be programmed based on customer requirements for any dead zone or scoring volume in excess of 40 meters.
